Dr. Kidd was on board the Falcon X Heavy on the Atomic Clock satellite, which was launched into earth orbit on June 25, 2019. She was honored at a memorial service prior to the launch. She will be looking down on us as she circles the earth for decades to come!

The launch event of the Continuum was held at the Orlando Museum of Art with a large turnout. After a brief reception, the evening program included a presentation of the Mission of the Continuum, followed by a one time, live recorded concert by the Beautiful Music Orchestra with Voices, performing some of Dr. Joan Kidd’s favorite music. Shannon Miller, seven time olympic medalist, visited the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute. Shannon, also a cancer survivor, met with patients currently going though chemo therapy. She spend some time talking to the patients and gave her own words of encouragement.
