The Joan L. Kidd MD Fight for Life Cup Playoff is being conducted as an event of the Blessings in a Backpack Classic’s Duke of Edinburgh Cup National Qualifier on April 17, 2026. Players who enter the Blessings Duke of Edinburgh Cup Qualifier and who are certified as finishing in rankings 3rd-12th place in the Duke of Edinburgh Cup Qualifier will qualify for a 5 hole Playoff to determine the Fight for Life Cup Champion and the winner of the seven day Sea Dream Yacht Voyage for two in the Mediterranean.
IT'S YACHTING, NOT CRUISING ENJOY THE DIFFERENCE
All qualifiers for the Fight for Life Cup will commence play on the 5th hole of the course after the conclusion of the DOE Cup qualifying, and the two highest scores on each hole will be eliminated until only two players remain on the 9th hole. The winner of the 9th hole is the Fight for Life Cup Champion. Consolation prizes will be awarded to the Runner up and all qualifiers for the Fight for Life Cup Playoff.
2027 Ryder Cup Closest to the Pin Shootout: The 9 players who are eliminated in the Fight for Life Cup Playoff will compete by taking one shot to determine who is closest to the pin. The winner receives a 2027 Ryder Cup Package in Ireland - five days, four nights attendance at the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in Ireland including lodging, transportation to and from the course and tickets for all four days admission.
